Privacy Policy
CleanSwipe keeps cleanup local and user-controlled.
CleanSwipe analyzes photos on your device and does not upload photo or video content. Apple manages iCloud Photos sync if you enable it. CleanSwipe has no separate backend account system or ad SDK. It uses Firebase Analytics Core and Firebase Crashlytics for app usage and diagnostic reporting, and RevenueCat for subscription entitlements.
Photo Library
CleanSwipe scans photos and videos locally on the user's device through Apple's PhotoKit framework. CleanSwipe does not upload photo or video content. If iCloud Photos is enabled, Apple syncs the Photos library and deletion can sync to other devices. CleanSwipe may save local-only analysis indexes, review snapshots, and generated thumbnails on the device to make future scans faster. The user can clear this local analysis data in Settings; this does not delete anything from Photos.
People Groups
If the bundled SFace Core ML model passes its local startup check and the user starts a People Scan, CleanSwipe creates anonymous 128-dimensional face embeddings and groups only on that iPhone. It does not import names or group assignments from Apple Photos, does not upload faces, crops, embeddings, identifiers, or group membership, and does not keep separate copies of photos. Release diagnostics keep only aggregate processing-stage counters and never include photos, crops, embeddings, memberships, or identifiers. Clear Local Analysis removes the derived embeddings and groups without deleting photos.
Photo Map
The Library map groups photos and videos using location metadata already saved in each item. CleanSwipe keeps this index on the device and does not send photo coordinates or identifiers to CleanSwipe analytics or servers. Apple Maps provides the map and may receive the visible map area and map interactions needed to display it. CleanSwipe does not request the user's current location. Clear Local Analysis removes the saved map index.
Home Place Names
Place Names is on by default in Settings > Advanced. When a trip or place suggestion appears on Home, CleanSwipe may ask Apple's reverse geocoder for a city name using only the center of an approximate 5 km area. It does not send an individual photo's coordinates, identifier, or date. Requests are rate-limited and names are cached on this device. You can turn Place Names off or remove cached names with Clear Local Analysis.
Clutter Suggestions
CleanSwipe checks photos and videos on the device for possible receipts and documents, accidental shots, and very short videos. These are only suggestions. CleanSwipe does not upload the images or automatically delete suggested items.
Cleanup Control
Swipe decisions only create a cleanup list. Photos and videos are not deleted until the user reviews the summary and confirms deletion through the system Photos confirmation flow.
AI Best Shot
AI Best Shot recommendations are generated locally from photo quality signals such as focus, lighting, contrast, and composition. AI recommends likely keepers but does not delete photos automatically.
Purchases
Premium entitlement is handled through RevenueCat and App Store purchases. RevenueCat may process purchase history for app functionality. CleanSwipe does not store payment information or process payment card data.
Data Collection
Firebase may collect app usage, device/app, and diagnostic/crash data for Analytics and Crashlytics. Firebase events are limited to screen/action names and aggregate counts or categories, such as scan totals, review scope, cleanup category, and cleanup outcome counts. CleanSwipe does not send photo or video content, filenames, local photo identifiers, thumbnails, raw scan output, item-level cleanup decisions, purchase receipts, payment information, or precise location or photo coordinates to Firebase. RevenueCat may process purchase history for Premium entitlement. Apple Maps may receive the visible map area and map interactions to render the Library map, and the approximate Home suggestion area when Place Names is enabled.
Your Choices
You can limit or revoke Photos access in iOS Settings. Clear Local Analysis removes CleanSwipe's saved analysis indexes and derived People groups without deleting items from Photos. You can manage subscriptions through your Apple account.
